The Matched Series

The last two weeks I have been reading these… 

  

… The Matched Series by Ally Condie! 

Book 1, Matched, is the perfect mix of utopia thriller, adventure and romance. If you liked the Hunger Games and Fahrenheit 451, you will really enjoy these! In a sense they are very similar - strong female lead, love triangle and utopia mystery... but they definitely have their own unique story to go along with it!

  

Book 1 Summary: Matched

"Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow."

I would love to include book 2 (Crossed) and book 3 (Reached) summaries but it would give to much away!

Things I loved: 

• Each book has a completely different landscape and story
• New and interesting characters are constantly introduced 
• Book 1 is from 1 point of view, book 2 is from 2 points of view and book 3 is from 3 points of view
• The incorporation of poetry 

Here is the thing: these are very much teen thriller novels. Super easy reads and very light. Perfect for the beach! I had no intention of reading through them so quick but… I repeat… super easy reads!
