The Hunt for the Perfect Wicker Basket

Do you guys ever have that one item you always seem to be on the hunt for? For us it has been finding the perfect wicker basket! We have wanted a nice big one for our living room for a while now but never seem to find one that meets all of our qualifications! We wanted it to be decently large in terms of width, but not too tall, needed good handles and needed to match the style of our space (cozy with lots of browns).

A month or two ago I found this one at Target…

I knew this wasn't "The One" for our living room but the price was right and it seemed really well built so I brought it home! Side track for a minute: In the 3 years we have lived in Louisiana we have never bought a bed frame… we have a pretty thick box spring and mattress so we never felt the need to get one! That being said… we also never bought bed-side tables since we would want them to eventually match the bed frame. Ok back on track now! I got this basket and have been using it for my bed-side organizer! It has been the perfect place for my laptop, iPad, books, book light, hair elastics, glasses case and my other miscellaneous near-the-bed stuff!

Then this past weekend it finally happened! We found the perfect wicker basket for our living room! We had gotten a 15% off coupon for Pottery Barn in the mail and decided to swing by the store on our way to work out. And there it was! Perfect size and shape and we loveee that the pattern is slightly non-conventional!

The basket is the large utility size of the Jamile Basket set… aka in the below picture it is the one in the middle on the bench! Don't let the picture fool you! It is much bigger in person!

So this is what it looks like in my living room!

To get a better idea of it's size… that cream and green striped blanket is queen bed sized and the other two are for a full bed size. There is even additional space for a 4th blanket! The basket is majority light brown but has dark brown accents which will be perfect for our space! We are so happy with it!!

The real test now is to see if the bunny stays away from it!! Here's to hoping!
