My First Time Cutting Down A Christmas Tree
Growing up we always had a real tree for Christmas, but we always just picked one up at a tree lot. I have always wanted to cut a Christmas Tree down at a tree farm but it never worked out. If you were around last you may remember that Ryan and I went to a tree farm in Louisiana but were disappointed that the trees were all Cyprus Pines and didn't have a good Christmas-Tree-Smell. We ended up just buying an imported tree and left the tree farm kinda bummed.
But now we live in Massachusetts and there are pine/fur tree farms all over the place!

This was the year and I WAS SO EXCITED!
We drove out to Marsh's Tree Farm in Princeton, Massachusetts, where Ryan and his family always cut their tree. Ryan's parents came with us along with Ryan's sister, brother-in-law and our 1 month old niece! It was a family affair... I can feel a tradition forming!
The tree farm was on a gorgeous piece a property with a pond and tall grass everywhere. Definitely had a bit of Christmas magic to it!
Ryan got the honor of cutting it down while I caught it!
(That is the face of someone who didn't realize how heavy a Christmas Tree was)

After we got our tree all set up - it was time for Ryan's sister and brother-in-law to pick theirs!
Baby Caroline's first Christmas tree!
They got a winner of a tree too!
When we got home the tree was immediately set up.
The before...
And the after!
I've always wanted a tree you could see from outside and our big living room window fulfilled that dream this year!!
A tradition we have in our family is to name the Christmas Tree every year.
So meet Francis... the Fraser Fir!
