Weekend Recap
The weekend started with saying goodbye to some friends. When Ryan and I moved down to Louisiana 3 years ago we found it oddly difficult meeting new people and making new friends. Ryan's office mate had starting working the same time as him and was also new to Louisiana - which ended up being the perfect recipe for a quick friendship! In the past 3 years we have been around to witness our friend buy a house, adopt a pup and meet the love of his life! Both him and his fiancé are moving to Houston this week so we decided to have a farewell dinner on Friday before they started packing up!
We will see them in a couple weeks for their wedding and again in November for a Louisiana wedding… but it will be really sad to see one of our very first Louisiana friends go!
On Saturday we dedicated our time to the Louisiana flood efforts. We went to our church to make some donations and later spent the day helping a family gut their house.
This is what every single house looked like in this neighborhood:
Our project for the day was to tear down sheet rock in the shed:
(I rocked my boyfriends sexy work pants)
On Sunday we caught up on sleep and ran some much needed errands. This summer we fell into a new tradition - getting ice-cream and browsing Barnes & Noble! And Sunday night we did just that! Such a nice relaxing way to end the weekend! I found myself in the craft section and looked up some new patterns I might try out!
We will see how ambitious I am feeling!!
