The Girl On The Train

The Girl On The Train was soooo freakin good! I went for this book after seeing the trailer for the movie, then found out it was based on a book and was like - I NEED to check that book out ASAP… or at least before the movie is out!! So I did - and I was sooo happy about it!

The Girl On The Train Book Overview:

EVERY DAY THE SAME
Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

UNTIL TODAY
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel goes to the police. But is she really as unreliable as they say? Soon she is deeply entangled not only in the investigation but in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?

The book takes place from 3 different female character point of views. Within each storyline the chapters are divided by the time of the day: Morning Afternoon or Evening with dates to help you create a timeline of events. There is a murder mystery with multiple possibilities. I definitely changed my mind on "who did it" a couple times and in the end figured it out ~ 50 pages before the big reveal… which wasn't toooo early to the point where I wasn't interested to see if I was right!

I highly recommend this book!

Can't wait for the movie to come out on October 7th!
