Falmouth Getaway

For Ryan's birthday I got us a weekend away in Cape Cod (Falmouth, MA)! We got up early on Saturday and drove east to enjoy some sea air! We have this tradition where as we drive over the Bourne bridge into Cape Cod we have to roll the windows down!

(Note: Ryan's window was open and then closed as we were getting off the bridge... it was 30 degrees!! The tradition is better in the summer).

First stop... Wood's Hole!

We found this teeny tiny beach and had it all to ourselves!

I thought Ryan said... wave to the camera... so I did... he def didn't say that lol... ooooh well

We watched the ferry for Martha's Vineyard leave from the little beach!

We needed to start moving around at this point since we were getting cold so we hanging out on the little beach so we explored the rest of Wood's Hole.

If you ever find yourself in Wood's Hole you have to go to Pie in the Sky Bakery! We got the BEST Almond Croissants and Blueberry muffins! Side note: we ended up coming back on Sunday and grabbed some more croissants and cookies to bring back home with us!

Right as we were about to leave Wood's Hole we randomly saw this fox! I don't think I have ever seen one in the wild before... so random!

We drove around for a while taking in the views and then headed to Nobska Lighthouse!

If you know me... you know I have a thing for lighthouses. I have this goal to see every one in Massachusetts! Getting closer!

Across from the lighthouse there is a path that leads down to the ocean. It was a little overgrown from the winter. Can you find Ryan?

When we reached the water we were the only one there and it was a perfect place to hang out!

Next stop: Main Street Falmouth for some shopping!
I bought a sweatshirt and a beach coverup (perfect for the honeymoon!!). We also got a cute fleece for our niece!

As we were walking down the street there were these 4 turkeys causing so much mayhem. They kept crossing the street like they owned the place and causing all sorts of traffic issues. We later talked to one of the shop owners and she said they hang out there all the time causing problems. LOL

Basically how I feel about those turkeys summed up in a photo:

After shopping we went for a hike to "The Knob". This is the knob:

It was so pretty at the knob looking out to the ocean but it was SOO windy! We had wanted to watch the sunset here but it was so cold and windy we just couldn't do it.

We drove to a beach where we could park and watch the sunset... from the comfort of our car!

**Phew** what a day!

We went back to our hotel, ate some dinner then called it a night! On Sunday we woke up, went for a walk on Old Silver Beach then got on the road.

It was an AWESOME weekend! I am so sad to be back at work and preparing for the impending snow storm. Ick.
