Baton Rouge Bridal Show!

Over the weekend my fellow engaged girlfriend and I went to the Baton Rouge Bridal Show hosted at the Belle of Baton Rogue Casino! We are #TotesGettingMarried! So nice to have a friend who is engaged at the same time so we can shamelessly talk wedding stuff non-stop and not bore each other with it!

The event had ~60 vendors ... which really weren't relevant to Ryan and my wedding since we are getting married in Massachusetts... but they were fun to explore and get ideas from! The booths I really loved were the honeymoon/vacation planning ones since Ryan and I are still under debate on where we want to go! Currently we are torn between Hawaii and Santorini Greece... total opposite ends of the world!!

We stopped by the Men's Warehouse booth since that is where Ryan is getting his suit! The groomsmen are going to wear navy blue suits with wine colored accents (the bridesmaid's colors)!

Snazzy huh!?

Ryan also mentioned the socks were really important! He wants to find solid wine colored socks - but those plaid ones are pretty awesome too!

David's Bridal had models there showing off some of the dresses which were fun to check out! I might go scope out some dresses in the next couple months so that I can get a grasp of prices and styles!

There were tons of beautiful cakes on display... and samples! Score!

The big event of the day was the Diamond Dig. Brides literally had to dig through cakes looking for “diamonds” with numbers on them. The numbers corresponded to unique prizes (free tux's, china sets, spa days, etc). The grand prize was a 4 Day, 3 Night Honeymoon in Jamaica. You had to be selected to participate and unfortunately my girlfriend and I didn't get picked so we didn't get a chance to dig... bummer. No free honeymoons for Ryan and I!

These were the lucky chosen brides that had the chance to dig through the cakes! It was hilarious to watch!! All those brides set loose on those unsuspecting cakes! lol!!!

I have never been to a bridal show so I really didn't have anything to compare it to... but I thought it was a really fun day! The event was a little on the long side (3 hours) and it took us only 1 hour to get through all the vendors so there was a lot of sitting around and waiting for the main event (diamond dig). I did get some ideas and enjoyed talking all things wedding for an afternoon!

Happy Monday y'all!
