One thing that I am so super grateful for is that my fluffy bunny Willow is potty trained. He knows to go home to his little bathroom in his cage when he needs to and he has always been that way!
Well yesterday we had a funny bunny situation! Willow stays in his cage when we are not home and at night… all other times he is a free roaming (with supervision) bunny. Well… yesterday I went to bed a little early and my boyfriend had hung out with the bunny a little longer. Later way after we went to sleep… at 3am… I hear little scratching on our bedroom door… I go out into our living room and low and behold, Willow is running around, wide awake and full of energy sprinting around the apartment!! Apparently somebody (not naming anyone…) forgot to make sure Willow was all tucked in to bed… he had been free roaming for 5 hours of the evening unsupervised!
But here is the good news! Willow, being the good potty trained bunny he is, and the fact I think he was bored with no one to play with… didn't cause any sort of mayhem! **Phew**!
So this isn't exactly a favorite… but I do love telling the story mostly because I can envision it having a totally different ending! There were plenty of things he could of destroyed or gotten into!!
I don't have too many pictures of Willow in his cage… or sleeping for that matter… so I thought I would I share these three of the snuggle bug!
This…
Guys. My fire alarm has been going off randomly ALL week. The simple solution you think would be… change the battery. Well guess what. It was still beeping when the battery was out and when it was replaced with a new one! I think we were going to start going crazy! Well the best thing happened when I just walked in the apartment on the way home from work: they gave us an entire new alarm!! Hallelujah! It has not beeped once since I've gotten home… peaceful silence.
I think I have found my next two book series (once I finish re-reading the Harry Potter books)!! After reading ROOM by Emma Donoghue, I need a break from intense/thriller/suspense/adult books so I am going to switch gears and read some popular teen-thriller dystopias stories! If you are a fan of the Hunger Games series and/or the Divergent series, these are supposed to be enjoyable and highly recommended!
The first series I am going to read is the Partials series by Dan Wells…
Humanity is all but extinguished after a war with Partials—engineered organic beings identical to humans—has decimated the population. Reduced to only tens of thousands by a weaponized virus to which only a fraction of humanity is immune, the survivors in North America have huddled together on Long Island. But sixteen-year-old Kira is determined to find a solution. As she tries desperately to save what is left of her race, she discovers that that the survival of both humans and Partials rests in her attempts to answer questions about the war's origin that she never knew to ask.
The second series I am going to look at is the Matched series by Ally Condie...
Book 1: Matched, Overview:
Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black. The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.
Let me know your reviews on these books if you have read any or all of them!! Would love to know what you guys think before I dive in!
So Fuller House comes out today on Netflix and I have seriously mixed emotions about it. Sometimes it is great to bring back something that was awesome and re-vamp it… other times it is a really really bad idea. I have a strange feeling that this may be one of those times. This seems to be a popular trend right now, to bring back old fan favorites.
Examples of sequels I predict will turn out ok:
- The Gilmore Girls Re-vamp
- My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2
- Finding Dory (sequel of Finding Nemo)
But for as many successful sequels there are… there are almost double the amount of sequels that either did not turn out as well as the original … or were complete flops. Take Girl Meets World for an example. Another 90s hit show based off of Boy Meets World and they gender flipped the story line… and from all the reviews I have read, it was a complete fail. Why ruin a good thing?!
Here is my hesitation with Fuller House. 1) Everyone will compare it to the original which is hard to beat. 2) The Olsen twins are not in it… and therefore it just won't be the same or complete without them. 3) Corky 90s humor will not do well with present day trends and television. Unless they revamp the entire comedy dynamic of the show… I can't see it doing well. The people who will watch it will be the adults who grew up with it for nostalgias sake.
So long story short - yes I am going to give it a shot, not with the expectation of it being fantastic, but mostly so I can be involved in the conversation. I wish it well… but I am also skeptical.
And for my last favorite for the week… this weekend I am going to a Dropkick Murphys Concert! For those not familiar with the group, they are classified as an "American Celtic Punk" band… or as I like to describe them… Hard rock Irish music!
Shipping Off To Boston (makes me miss Massachusetts)
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!! <3 WC
