Norman Rockwell Museum, Stockbridge MA
You may recognize the works of Norman Rockwell from these famous paintings:
Ryan and I had a rare day off together and decided to head out to Stockbridge MA (Norman Rockwell lived the later part of his life there) to check out the museum dedicated to him! All of Ryan's life he has had a print of this painting in his house:
This is Home for Christmas by Norman Rockwell, a painting of Main Street Stockbridge in the winter so it was really cool for him to see the real painting in person!
We both really loved seeing all of his Saturday Evening Post paintings. I am partial to the ones with kids, pets and anything Christmas themed.
After exploring the museum we took a walk on the grounds. Western MA is beautiful up in the mountains and the museum grounds had a gorgeous view.
It was a great day trip from our home in central MA. We went to the museum then explored downtown Maine Street and got to walk the painting of the street in real life! There happened to be a craft fair the day we were there so we enjoyed checking out the local art and we each treated ourselves to some homemade apple cider donuts.
Perfect day get-a-way!
