Hawaiian Honeymoon- Kauai Part 2
I started sharing our week on Kauai yesterday! You can can check out some awesome door-less helicopter rides here:
And in case you missed Maui...
Hawaiian Honeymoon - Maui Part 4
Our third day in Kauai was dedicated to the central and western side of Kauai - specifically Waimea Canyon (which we flew over the day before).
There were so many cool places to pull over and explore!
Views for days!!!
Our pilot from our helicopter tour told us the best chili on the island was at the Kokee Lodge on the way up the canyon... so of course we stopped!
When we got all the way to the top the clouds rolled in and we missed out on the view... bummer.
After our morning canyon exploration we ventured back down to sea level and checked out Polihale State Park. Polihale is at the end of a 5 mile dirt road full of potholes... so you definitely need the right car to get there! But it is SO worth it! Ryan declared this the most beautiful beach he has ever been to!

Most picturesque nap spot!
The water was on the rougher side but it was great for wave jumping!
To wrap up an awesome day we stopped by Glass Sand Beach and collected some sea glass...
... went to Kauai Brewery, "The Western Most Brewery in the World"...
... and ate some awesome ice cream called Opihi!
The next day we headed to the north part of the island to check out the Queens baths. The baths are these large sea water baths that people can swim, jump and snorkel in! Parking to get here is hard. There are only 6 parking spots and you have to wait quite a while to snatch one up... but it is worth it!
This is the bath we hung out in!
For the record I have a bathing suit on... just was strapless lol
On our way to the car we stopped and watched these 5 sea turtles ride the waves! They looked like they were having a blast!
That night we picked a random beach on the map and decided to go watch the sunset there. It worked out great because there was no one there and we had the place to ourselves!! We even saw a seal swimming which was great!
