Hawaiian Honeymoon - Maui Part 2

This week I am working on sharing the first half of our great honeymoon adventure in Hawaii (first half being Maui)!

If you missed Part 1 - make sure to check it out here!

We woke up on day two in Maui to this amazing view!

Our lays from the luau stayed fresh all week and we hung them from our jeep!

We spent the morning lounging on Big Beach and exploring some lava rocks!

Do you see Molokini Crater off in the distance!
(We snorkeled there the day before)

We saw some spinner dolphins...

...and we enjoyed some lunch from a food truck! #AllTheFishTacos

In the afternoon we checked out Black Sand Beach which was awesome! I wish I had planned ahead - I would have loved to bring some of this sand home!

That night we had dinner reservations at the Four Seasons. We had gotten there a littler early so we enjoyed a stroll along the cliff walk.

I had told them it was our honeymoon and they had a great sunset view for us and they gave us a free brownie dessert!

The next morning we got up at 2:30am (Yes AM) so that we could watch the sunrise on Maui's volcano Haleakala! It was so beautiful to be above the clouds!

A couple tips for if you ever find yourself on top of Haleakala for sunrise: 1) Leave very early! There are only so many parking spots - you can always sleep in the car but make sure to set your alarm 30min before sunrise 2) Make sure to get a state park reservation because they only let so many people up the mountain a day and 3) Dress WARM. It was only 30 degrees at the top of the mountain! I had a scarf and the blankets from our United Airlines flight and it was still very chilly!

On our way back down the mountain we stopped for breakfast and discovered coconut syrup!

Since the weather wasn't really great for a beach day we decided to spend the morning exploring Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm. They had a scavenger hunt you could do and Ryan was super into it!

There were some really funky plants on the grounds that were cool to check out!

We finished our scavenger hunt (and were rewarded with free lavender cookies) and did some exploring and shopping downtown (complete with pineapple dole whips).

Days 2 and 3 on Maui were perfect!

Come back tomorrow to check out Part 3 where we relocated to another part of the island!
